Dear Thief River Falls voters:

The Thief River Falls Board of Education has unanimously approved an Operating Levy on the November 5 ballot. Our kids, our schools, and our community are our priorities. Unfortunately, inflation and state funding increases that don’t keep pace with inflation have created budget challenges that we’ve been talking about for years.

We’re proposing this Our Future, Prowler Pride operating levy referendum because:

  1. Previous cuts were deep. $3.7 million in budget cuts over the previous 7 years - dozens of jobs lost.

  2. The need is dire. Without new revenue, we’ll cut another $950,000 next year - class sizes will be over 30 students.

  3. The solution is an investment in our future. The referendum will retain teachers and programs.

This website has been updated to include much more information about what is planned if the levy is approved. Please see the downloadable fact sheet on the right.

Community members with questions about our district’s Our Future, Prowler Pride referendum can contact me at chris.mills@myprowler.org or call 218-681-8711.

You may vote between September 20 and November 5. Thank you for being an informed voter!

Sincerely,

Dr. Chris Mills, Superintendent
Thief River Falls Public Schools
